FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE JOHN XXIII SCRIP PROGRAM
How often can I order Scrips?
Scrips may be ordered approximately twice a month.
How do I receive my Scrip order?
During the school year you may authorize Scrip to come home in a child’s backpack, or pick it up in the Scrip office located next to the John XXIII office during published hours. You may also list a representative to pick up the order for you.
Can I reload my cards?
Scrip cards may not be reloaded if you are using them to track your stewardship. There is no method of recording this information. Kroger gift cards are reloadable.
Can my friends and family participate?
YES!!! They follow the same instructions for ordering and picking up Scrip. They will need to note on the order form which family is receiving stewardship credit.
Where do I get an order form?
In the school office, or from the John XXIII website, www.John23middletown.org. A new form will accompany each order that is picked up.
Can I only order from the vendors listed on the John XXIII Scrip Program order form?
NO!! There are over 600 vendors participating in the Great Lakes Scrip Center program. See their website www.glscrip.com for a detailed list. Use a blank line on the order form to write in other vendors.
Do any local grocery stores participate in the Scrip Program?
Marsh participates in the John XXIII Scrip Program. Cards can be ordered on the John XXIII Scrip Program order form or purchased during Scrip office hours. Note, this is separate from the Marsh Fresh Idea card which may be scanned for store discounts. Both may be used together. Kroger offers a reloadable gift card which generates stewardship points, and is currently in use by many of the John XXIII families. Reloadable Kroger gift cards must be ordered through the school office in order to track stewardship points, however they may be reloaded at any Kroger store in the U.S. Note, this is separate from the Kroger Plus card which may be scanned for store discounts. Both may be used together.
Is Kohl’s in the program?
YES! We are in the Kohl’s Cares for Kids program. In addition to use for purchases at the store, these cards may be used to pay on a Kohl’s charge card balance. Cards can be ordered or purchased during Scrip office hours.
Do Scrip cards expire?
Many do, typically after long periods of time. We encourage families and friends to check the GLSC website, www.glscrip.com for various restrictions.
Can I pay department store credit card balances with Scrip cards?
No for many of them. If you check www.glscrip.com you will find stores, like JC Penney’s, that allow you to use scrip to make payments towards their charge cards when payment is made in person in the store.
