Testimonial:

"John XXIII is a family tradition and way of life for our family. We count on the quality education with the family atmosphere."

Beth and Stephen O’Neil, Alumni and Parents

Testimonial:

"John XXIII expresses its Spirituality by teaching children to believe in Christ and to live by the Golden Rule. I asked my oldest son the other day what type of things he is learning in religion class, he told me they are learning about compassion, and went on to tell me how important compassion is. I smiled and remembered why we send our children to John XXIII."

George Nenni, Parent and Alumnus (1975)

Kindergarten FAQ's

Q:  Is there an entry test for the John XXIII Kindergarten program?
A:  If you are applying for admission into the Kindergarten program your child must attend Kindergarten screening in the spring.  This is usually sometime around the end of April.  This is a chance for the John XXIII Kindergarten staff and your child to meet.  This is also a good time for your family to see our school.  Traditionally, students come to the John XXIII Kindergarten program from a variety of preschools.  Our screening gives the John XXIII staff a chance to evaluate the skill levels of the new students, and help them plan for the start of the school year.  This day should be a fun and exciting day for you child.

Q:  Do you have half and full day Kindergarten?
A:  Kindergarteners will begin their day at 8:10am and end the first half of their day at 11:40am.  At 11:40am, the full day Kindergarteners will have lunch and recess, and the half day Kindergarteners will go home.  As a Kindergartener, your child will experience extended learning through activities such as Spanish, music, art, field trips, language arts, and math.  They will also have rest time.  Your student will be dismissed at 2:50pm.

The tuition for Full Day differs from Half Day, so please visit the Tuition section of our site for details.

Q:  Is there a waiting list for Kindergarten?
A:  There usually is not a waiting list for Kindergarten, however, please return your forms and information promptly to assure the quickest placement of your child.  Enrollment numbers vary from year to year, and the Full Day Kindergarten is a popular choice among families attending John XXIII.

Q:  Do local daycare centers provide transportation to and from John XXIII for half-day Kindergarten?
A:  Some daycare centers provide transportation, others do not.  Please contact your daycare provider, or Mrs. Peggy Fairbanks (513-424-1196) for more information.

Q:  Are John XXIII Kindergarteners required to wear uniforms?
A:  No.  Kindergarteners should wear comfortable clothes that they will be able to play in.
