First quarter- to use the correct order of operations in solving one-step, two-step, multi step equations and inequalities; solve equations using scientific notation.
Second quarter - compare data using range, mean, median, mode and quartiles; create, interpret, and analyze graphs and data.
Third quarter - estimate, compute, and solve problems involving ratios, proportions, and percents, explore square root properties, and explore slope.
Fourth quarter - graph inequalities, explore area, surface area, and volume of solids, describe sizes, positions, and orientations of two dimensional shapes after reflections, translations, and rotations, explore probability, and solve linear equalities and inequalities with polynomials.

Science

First quarter - Each student will develop an increased comprehension of the relevance of the natural and physical world around him /her while increasing his / her enjoyment of science.
Grade 6 will study Life Science, Grade 7 will study Earth Science, and Grade 8 will study Physical Science.
Second quarter - The student will practice the scientific method to solve problems through their powers of investigation, discovery, making inferences, reasoning, and drawing conclusions. The student will gain knowledge through fun hands- on activities.
Third Quarter - The students will practice decision-making skills; improvement of critical thinking skills with opportunities for evaluation and reinforcement for ALL students at ALL levels.
Fourth quarter - The School Goal: The student will demonstrate an understanding of the Catholic Faith by projecting gospel values. Each student will demonstrate Christian behavior and model values such as tolerance, empathy, and spirituality, taught at John XXIII School.

My goal as teacher is to provide an atmosphere for the development of Christian Values.

4th Qtr: The Cold War Era, Civil Rights Movement, Vietnam Era, American Leadership and a Global Economy (1945 – present)
