Reading/Language Arts

 

This week we will read Two Bad Ants by Chris Van Allsburg. We will review the elements of a fantasy story. Our comprehension focus will be identifying fantasy and realism in the selection. We will review prepositions, irregular verbs, and subject/verb agreement. Students will also learn new vocabulary for this story.

We will study the lives of Saints. Students will learn about Dominic Savio, Bernadette, the Archangels, Scholastica, and Benedict.

 

Science/Social Studies

 We will learn about electric energy (electricity). We will conduct experiments with static electricity. Students will learn about circuits, and how electricity travels. We will also discuss conductors of electricity, and students will observe experiments with electricity. Finally, students will create an electromagnet.
